Making my own imaginative collection for Tommy Hilfiger FW 2026

About Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger is a globally recognised fashion designer and the founder of the eponymous fashion empire. Since his debut in the fashion world in the early ’80s, Hilfiger has established himself as an innovative designer who blends the essence of American casual style with a contemporary flair. Known for his use of classic designs, vibrant colours, and a sporty aesthetic, Tommy Hilfiger plays a significant role in the fashion industry. What I like about the brand is its use of logo’s intertwined with different materials and styles.

Inspiration

For this imaginary collection I took inspiration from the 1996 classic Fargo. The movie is a visual masterpiece with bright colours clashing with the white snow background.

Here are some inspiration I took from the collection:

Color palet

For the collection’s color palette, I looked to some more ‘trendy colors’ such as browns, beige, and navy. I also wanted to have denim pieces in this collection; that’s why there are so many navy and blues in there. This is to connect with the 70s vibe.

Designing

Then it was time to design all the pieces for my collection. I wanted it to include jackets, sweaters, pants, and of course shirts, because that is what we associate Tommy Hilfiger with. So there are outstanding pieces in this collection, but also some that can be adopted by the everyday buyers at the Tommy Hilfiger store. But then there are also pieces that can create a sort of zeitgeist.
